The Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is aimed at students and professionals who want to become specialists and experts in AI. It is open to the holders of a Bachelor’s degree. This program stands out from undergraduate Data Science programs in that it allows students to deepen their knowledge specifically in the area of machine learning, deep learning, and their applications. Upon completion of the Master’s degree, graduates will have received strong training as computer engineers (in artificial intelligence).
The Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence (AI) prepares students for a wide range of data-centric careers, whether in technology and engineering, consulting, science, and policy-making. The Master in Artificial Intelligence will provide a solid conceptual foundation, a deep understanding through several practical experiences, first with project-based courses and case studies, and then with an internship directly with an industrial partner, which facilitates graduate placement. The program will also foster the development of managerial skills and soft skills through practical real-life scenarios.
Students have the option to choose between two tracks. The research track promotes the development of the scientific component of the student’s training by deepening knowledge and initiation in the research careers. The professional track promotes the development of the student’s training by enhancing knowledge and acquiring deeper hands-on experience.
Students will benefit from LIAT’s strong links with the industry organizations seeking to incorporate these new technologies into their products and services as well as from our world-renowned faculty.
The first semester of the Master’s degree will be devoted to upgrading knowledge and the Intensive English Program (IEP) which are required for successful continuation of studies. The Master’s degree in AI consists of 120 credits and it is required to earn at least 60 credits at each level.
The pedagogy is based on Learning by Doing, focusing on practical work: plenty of coding exercises and guided mini-projects to be completed on your computer during the courses. Students enrolled in the Master’s in AI will build a strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and data science. Classes feature collaborative activities like online discussions and group projects. Through the Capstone project, you have the opportunity to work innovatively and creatively, applying the skills you have gained to real-world challenges.
Students have access to our world-class Labs (LIAT-AI and LIAT-CySec) and to the state-of-the art equipment, providing them with the optimal environment to develop their operational skills and projects.

An internship of four (4) to six (6) months completes the Master’s degree in AI. As part of this internship, students must write a Master’s thesis and defend it in front of an evaluation committee (jury). An optional 2 to 3 months internship can be completed during the first year of the Master’s degree. These internships can be carried out in a company or in a research Lab.
Regular seminars are organized with local and world-class experts to give students a global view of the issues and challenges of data science, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Admission is only possible for Master 1 (M1). Learning artificial intelligence at the Master’s level is an ambitious and demanding program. We believe it is best to complete it over two academic years (4 semesters).

After submitting your application, if your profile meets the requirements, you will be contacted for an interview (via video conference or in person) with the admission committee. During the interview, you will be able to present your experiences and your motivation to join this program.
Subsequently, you will receive a response regarding your admission application. If you are accepted to enroll at LIAT, you will need to pay the registration fees according to the conditions specified in your admission letter.
Your choice of university or higher education institution should not be based on financial considerations, but rather on real criteria, such as: quality of the programs, specific features of the institution, expertise and reputation of the faculty, potential job opportunities, suitability for your personal and professional project. Unfortunately, we don’t have a scholarship system at this stage. However, we do offer tuition fees reductions for students who have completed their Bachelor’s degree with honor and distinction.
