The Cybersecurity Certificate is a comprehensive program reflecting decades of expertise from faculty who are field professionals and internationally recognized experts in their field. Through highly practical immersion and a Learning by Doing pedagogy, you won’t just learn the fundamental methods of cybersecurity but will also put them into practice through real-world use cases. The Cybersecurity Certificate is offered in three specializations.

The Operational Cybersecurity Certificate (CYO) trains specialists who will be able to make decisions regarding network security, manage cybersecurity, and implement projects in the field of IT infrastructure. They will be able to apply best practices for defending, protecting, and maintaining the integrity of computer networks. It is aimed at IT professionals who want to equip themselves with concrete tools to work in the field of network security or anyone wanting to get introduced to the domain.

The Cyber Investigation Certificate (CYE) develops skills to verify and conduct investigations into crimes and offenses committed via the Internet. This certificate will appeal to those wishing to gain knowledge in cybercrime to conduct thorough investigations into crimes committed online. It is also aimed at professionals from businesses, law enforcement agencies, and judicial auxiliaries dealing with cybercrimes in their jobs, who want to update their intervention techniques and fight against these types of crimes while developing skills in virtual investigations.

The Cyber Fraud Certificate (CYF) helps professionals responsible for securing company data to master all aspects of the prosecution of crimes committed online. This program is aimed at individuals whose work involves combating cyber fraud in businesses as well as anyone wishing to enhance their knowledge of cyber fraud and develop the skills needed to counter it effectively.

• Ensure the security of an information system: identify weaknesses and associated risks to assist in decision-making and create a remediation plan

• Obtain information and propose solutions to potential security risks.

The selection is done by the review of the submitted  application package, and if necessary, a video conference or in-person interview. The complete admission process is as follows:

• Submission of the application package
• Interview with the admission committee
• Payment of registration fees.

Given the highly sensitive nature of cybersecurity, students will be required to sign a code of conduct that governs the use of the techniques learned. For example, not using the techniques and methods learned for illegal or criminal activities.

Required Degree: No degree is required, although having at least a high school level is preferable for this training. However, a basic understanding of mathematics and an interest in IT and technology are encouraged. We welcome students from all backgrounds with an interest and willingness to learn.

Required Documents: Please fill out the online application form. You will need the following documents:

• Identity document (ID card, passport, or driver’s license)
• Certificate or diploma from the last level of studies
• Transcripts from the highest education level
• Two (2) color passport-size photos.

After submitting your application, if your profile attracts our attention, you will be contacted for an interview (via video conference or in person) with the admission committee. During the interview, you can present your experiences and motivations to join this program.

You will then receive a response regarding your application. If you are allowed to register at LIAT, you must pay the registration fees according to the conditions outlined in your admission letter.

The application processing fee is 15 000 FCFA.

Once admitted, the membership fee for the LIAT Student Association (AEL) is 5000 FCFA.
